Now I was still able to keep my commercial credit but that was ONLY because of a 2 decade plus relationship with one particular bank that went to bat for me.. but I was on a VERY short leash.. but it was worth it now that we have bounced back deep into the black I am back to being the largest or ( one of ) largest borrowers at that bank and I finally got a 50% LTV owner occ loan on my home in Lake Oswego.

A couple of things I remember about what lead up to 08...I remember people camping out to buy new builds (think Black Friday type camping) just to be able to get a contract on a place and then they would immediately turn around and sell it to the next guy for 30K more before bulldozers were even off the trailers.

They usually meet the 3rd Thursday of each month but confirm on the website if you plan to attend an upcoming meeting as (very rarely) sometimes they have to do a different day.Also your profile says you're from Boston so if you do anything in Mass I'd recommend the Black Diamond Real Estate Investors group (blackdiamondrei.com) as they are also a good size and helpful (and, like RIREIG, don't try to sell you stuff :)
