If you look at almost any architecture photograph (the rule is broken sometimes), every vertical edge of the space is actually vertical in the image.

The numbers are not a random 'what if' example.  

You could've been blind and picked a random house off the MLS and gotten 30% appreciation over the last 5 years in almost any market.

I am from Atlanta and went to school outside Nashville and have been in Memphis a lot for random things and just never had a desire to invest there.

Thought it was just a random house the realtor had no affiliation with!

I would advise you not to offer 76k...Offer something random like 76,326 or something off the wall...Everyone else is going to offer 76k and you need to beat them.

So businesses and homeowners do that, sometimes they find a random person to buy the land for them and put their name down as the owner just so they can meet this arbitrary rule.I'd never do it myself, too risky for me.
