Most of those need to be paid whether or not you’re selling and earning, so research first.

In my opinion, the effort and paperwork and time spent is the same - they should earn the same then.

Will it be a property to live in yourself or to rent out, have you thought about any desired ROI, your buying power capabilities, etc.There are a lot of people in this post that can give you a hand of direction towards certain places/markets.  

This should give her more than enough time to earn a degree (or two), secure a nice job, save money, and have money for an investment. 

I'm interested in learning more about the dis/advantages between buying it as a foreigner and buying it directly as someone who earns a US income.
