I had people ask me to write a policy then, nope, sorry, all I can do today is make an appointment, but we can do it in two days.....The company had a contest (they always have contests) and while I won many of them, this time I led the southeast region of the entire country for new applications, second I think nationally, (won a nice vacation, BTW).

So not saying that the people you've talked to fall into those categories at all just giving you something to think about from what I've seen, and several larger LL's here have verified with their numbers in various regions of the country.

How would you recommend going about the search and what is the best way to become familiar with the rental market in a region?

Having been assigned to Fort Hood a couple times, I was aware of the area and what is available in the region.
