Everyone seems to know what a land contract is, but owner financing seems to be a bit more of a mystery to most sellers.As far as I understand it owner financing is when the purchaser holds the deed, and the seller only holds the note at whatever terms were agreed upon.Whereas a land contract the seller holds the deed, and an agreement on purchasing usually with a balloon payment at some point.Am I on track here?
