@Erwin Unaja if this is a permanently mounted rod I would fix it, If it is a tension rod I would say sorry that is a tenant responsibility (providing that is what your lease says). 

However, flat latex is easier to match for touchup.Door stoppers mounted on the baseboard are better than circular plastic pieces mounted on the wall.

@Richard Ernsberger aren't the school taxes in places like Mount Lebanon and Upper St Clair super high?

We are really close to the bike trail so our plan was to have a large indoor closet with mounts to store bikes as an example.  

You typically don't have to remove the actual mounting system, so I'm not sure if that's from your experience or another industry myth.
