Tips on TV remotes and screened patios?

Question

I am sure many of you have crossed these bridges before:

How do you keep track of TV remotes? We constantly have guests misplacing them, losing them, putting them in the wrong rooms. Very frustrating and I do not know what to do besides wire them to furniture.

We are in Florida and screened porches are like gold. The issue is that the screens are constantly being poked out and damaged. We are required to have our door handles up high and kids are constantly jumping up and punching the screens while trying to open the door.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

I install all TCL Roku TVs in my STRs.  I label all the remotes.   In some rooms I have remote holders mounted on the wall where it makes it obvious that is where the remotes belong.  My cleaners also check to make sure all my remotes are in place as well.  Again, the labeling on the remotes help.

Sticking with TCL Roku TVs ensures that the bedroom remote will also work in the living room if the battery dies.  They are also super cheap to replace with 3rd party TCL remotes, so I keep several extra at each STR.

Can't help you with the screen though...

I just had a guest lose a ceiling fan remote. Luckily I can buy a replacement from the manufacturer, except it's $59. I am hoping we find the original.

Have you tried a screen door protector or a door push guard? Also the "Screen Tight" system makes it super easy to replace a single screen panel. Between people, pets and wind storms, screens take a beating.

We have all TCL tv's and I have lost a few, then found them. I have 6 extra remotes in storage we can bust out as needed.

They run about 5-7 dollars on Amazon.

Yes this is the ideal way.  Unless you purchased the home already with TVs.  I outfit a 9br home all the TCL roku TVs.  The replacement remotes are 5 bucks on Amazon so I just bought 20 of them and leave them in the cleaners closet.

Hey Frank!

We are in FL too.  Short of wiring the remotes as you mentioned, we just buy a bunch of cheap universal ones from Amazon and keep them in stock.

We have staff handymen too who can patch the screens.  Companies that do that as a specialty are expensive but having a competent local handyman should help.
