I too am intimately familiar with finding a delightfully unique antique house, in a most perfect location, which has suddenly despite the odds fallen into the correct price range, only to have it grabbed up by someone else.

Ahh Austin, Seems like just  yesterday I was out looking at newly constructed retail and office buildings off Bee Caves and off 620 sitting with sub 20% occupancy.  

At the end, we caved in, refunded the money, removed the “non-refundable” option, and quit playing Airbnb’s little games. 

My wife and I currently own a townhouse in Calvert county but she recently opened a business in Downtown Baltimore so we are in the market for a row home in Pigtown/Ridgley's Delight.

Well, I actually sold my previous home to someone who was delighted that I hadn't removed the original tile and cabinets in the kitchen because she was into "50's retro-chic" , lol.So, depending on your demographic, you could just say it's a design choice...I have also used tub/tile resurfacing with good results.
