He visited the property on Friday and after discussing over the weekend we decided we were going to put in an offer.However on Sunday tornadoes hit the area and several trees hit the house creating extensive damage.The home and property was inherited by siblings after family passed away and they are wanting to get rid of it. 

The immediate lot behind the home is zoned for apartments, townhomes right now though it is empty now with trees.

There is significant noise pollution on the entire property but also has fantastic mountain views and mature trees in east Asheville and by a major commercial zone.

Age of tree of course plays into it.. when you look at for instance turn of the century ( after 1908 ) SF homes built with real 2x 4 redwood with trees that were 500 to 1000 years old its just stunning material..

At that point, it's worth researching and finding a solution that better meets your needs. 

Completely missing the forest for the trees.

The solution that was initially proposed was that friend/business partner would have his 25% equity split bought out of the funds that the 3 equity/capital partners are bringing to close and then he would take 25% of the backend profits.

But the solution cannot always be to throw more money at a problem.Again, the government is focusing on the easy-button solution when it comes to higher housing related costs.
