There's also the question of device management & security; if the device can be managed by only the landlord/owner, then the landlord/owner has all the liability with security. 

Smart devices are so yesterday.I use “Very Smart” devices. 

It does smart-lock management (via Yale Access app) and climate and noise monitoring (via Ecobee thermostat and Netatmo device).

While there are thousands of "Smart Home" devices on the market, and quite a few "All-in-One" systems; I haven't found anything that fits the needs of an investor trying to improve the value and appeal of a property without having to customize it to each individual buyer.

Hey everyone, just wondering if any of you are using any IoT devices in your buildings.Which are those and what benefits have you seen so far.

Other buildings on the block have all been rehabbed, but none have IOT devices. 

So there's been some major adopting starting up with major real estate management and development builders when it comes to units preinstalled with smart home devices.

Canary seems to be more of a monitoring device which alerts you whoever there is any movement.
