Even on the shows where they have big winners, when you break it down to an hourly return, I don't think the dollars are huge.You're not building your net worth, you're not generating recurring cash flow...sounds like a colossal waste of time for the average person who aspires to make more than $25,000 a year.A lark, a hobby, a fun way to spend an afternoon...maybe.

If you put a modem in the laundry room and give out WIFI passwords to the tenants, and by doing so you obtain an advantage in your rentals over your competition, whether you gave them away "free" or charge them for it, this is technically a business use and not personal home use.Someone already mentioned potential issues with tenants illegal activities such as pirating copyrighted content, which could get you in trouble with the ISP or carrier.

Also to Jimmy's point, there has been a recent backlash against those the are highly educated...in many cases, highly educated people are called "elitist," with a very negative connotation.Couple that with people in authority (like politicians) who essentially accuse Americans of being functionally illiterate by insisting that all messages must be delivered on a third-grade level.And as Rich pointed out, being smart is associated with words like nerd and geek, which generally have negative connotations.If being intelligent and well-educated were considered to be an indication of success in this country as opposed to an indication of being elitist or weak, maybe more kids would aspire to it.

I remember having a discussion about Sarah Palin quitting her elected position as Governor of Alaska, and the best defense anyone here could muster was that she was doing it to prepare for a Presidential run in 2012 (and therefore it was in the best interest of the people).Now that it's pretty clear that she quit for the sole purpose of advancing her personal wealth and fame (writing a book, taking a job with Fox News, etc), I think it's safe to say...Sarah Palin is a pathetic quitter who made no effort to uphold the role she promised her constituency she would.It bad enough that she can't uphold her own family's values (remember her teenage daughter got pregnant from an aspiring porn star), but to let down her constituency is just plain anti-American.She should be ashamed...
