If you are going to repave the driveway later, it would cost more, but what about a gentler slope at an angle across the lower half of the front lawn (below where the trees are, going from the bottom right where the grade is less steep up to the top of the current driveway where the dark patch is?

So moving forward you have only two real options, have the work redone like @Matthew Paul said and possibly re-doing a lot of patching and dry wall repairs or find a licensed elec.

We bought this as a foreclosure in a great area of town and there was a lot of 1st in the house. 1st time my husband installed flooring, 1st time he patched a sheetrock hole, 1st time I painted a house, etc...

The general idea is to renovate the kitchen with new cabinet & counter top; Update all the restrooms; patch up all walls; remove pop-corn ceiling, repaint whole house; re-sand and re-stain all the hardwood floor; some plumbing work; install can lights in all rooms; move some lighting fixtures; add/move switches and wire for Ethernet.

This is a difficult business to be in so if you decide to invest you will need significant cash reserves available, which you likely do not have, to get you through the rough patches or you will risk bankruptcy.

Have you looked into a lender like patch of land or another company that will do 75-80% LTC?
