But i would never tell them NO without a researched explanation, and usually by the end of the explanation they agree as well.

I only have experience in a few states (MN, CO, and MO) and MLS are local entities, but I'd assume that in most (if not all) places If you give an agent parameters - price, geographic, etc they should be able to set up a search for you that goes to your inbox every day.  

I know this is vague and subject to individual deals but some examples and explanations would be awesome.
