Gaining Access to MLS

Hello BP,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question, but I am wondering what are the requirements to gain access to the MLS? What is the application process like? Is it simply getting a real estate license and submitting an application or is it more involved? I am at the beginning stages of researching this topic. Any information is invaluable.

Thanks everyone!

In Maryland an agent is allowed to list someone as an assistant and they can access the MLS (MRIS as its known in my area) with a paid account. Approach a new agent who is hungry for business and ask them to set up an automatic search for you and have the results emailed to you daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc. The agent can set up the searches and emails on auto pilot. Pay them back by doing business with them.
