An overreaction by people assuming cultural shifts that will likely never materialize. 

I do have family/friends there and have visited frequently but I have not spent an extended amount of time there to deeply understand the culture.

I tend to buy in the Southern half of the US for 3 reasons:1) you get much higher year-round occupancy rates in the South & it’s simply tough to earn a good ROI in the North if your place sits vacant for a big chunk of the year2) Culturally, the Southern half of the US seems to be a lot more accepting of STRs regulation-wise.

Wealthy individuals sacrifice a lot for the convenience, entertainment and culture of cities...

I can say though that wanting to come live here is a great idea, it is such a vibrant and fun culture.

@Craig Curelop I think there's a big migration from the Bay Area to Denver in general--I know many people who are fleeing the insane RE market and tech-focused culture there.
