Among them I saw:A cute place 10 minutes from downtown that almost made me throw up from the curb because a decade of cat piss resided insideA one story that was trying to act like a two story with a metal spiral staircase deathtrap, rotting wood all over it, major cracks and water damage all over, and needed at least 60k of repairs and updates while it was posting only 10k below compsA duplex that looked like it was interesting until I found out it was right next to the street with some of the highest crime rates in austin.A grandma house that was a step away from i35 (one block of houses in the way).

But I thought this was a cute idea. 

It was a cute cape cod in a quiet neighborhood 20 minutes away from where I lived. 3br/2ba, investor owned, had rented for $1,500, was comped at $150k and was selling for $130. 

It was cute, smaller sq footage but fixed up.

Im a graphic designer with 10 years of experience under my belt.

The graphic below shows that I would need to save $1000 for OVER 18 months to have enough for 20% down.

Both of us have backgrounds in graphic design work so hopefully we will be able to do that work on our own.

Don't know if you have heard of it, we're mostly known for our cute girls, beer, beacon and the highest taxes in the world.

Not really sure about these but I sure like the numbers and a lot of these older houses are very cute and have good curb appeal.Thoughts?

I just ruled out a cute house at a good price and location because it was on a busy road and rather noisy.
