Opening an LLC, Building a Website & a Brand

Hi BP!

When is the right time to open an LLC, build a website and a brand for a real estate investing business??

My partner and I have been developing our network for the past 6 months and we are trying to figure out when we should start to build a website, brand, Facebook page, LinkedIn profile, etc.

Do we wait until a few weeks before we close on our first property before we open the LLC?

Does the website, Facebook page, and LinkedIn profile come after we finish renovating our first project?

What are your thoughts? When did you start to develop these mediums for your business?

Best,

Scott

You can open your LLC in 10 minutes online at mass.gov. You will need an attorney to draft your operating agreement. Do not fall for the Nevada/Wyoming/Delaware asset protection strategy when you don't even have anything to protect. And besides, all their arguments against registering in those states crumble when you realize you still have to register your LLC in MA, and then do double paperwork and fees.

Once you have your LLC, you can make offers in the name of the LLC. The social media is something that takes a long time to build up, so when you start that is not as important, since it never grows at the rate you expect anyway.

Focus on finding the deal, not on the admin tasks that delay your finding a deal.
