Take responsibility, and your career will blossom. 

With all of the tech moving into downtown San Jose, Google, Facebook, Samsung etc South San Jose, Almaden, Blossom Valley are seeing great appreciation.

Things have come a long way in a handful of years and things take time to blossom and mature. 

Further, it will continue undoubtedly for a magnificent future with a blossoming harvest of several fruitful results.

I would also look in the areas between Humboldt Street and Blossom (Marion, e.g.) and along East Main (starting in the 1900s until the street ends at Winton).  

These relationships can blossom from all sorts of other channels using many different marketing techniques.  

I personally know of a mall that was converted into a community college a couple of hours north of me, and it was just blossomed, but also remember what a failure it was of a mall in the 15 or so years prior to it being sold and "reinvented."

Meanwhile the 1000s of people who recently got laid off from many tech companies will start hundreds of new companies, some of which will blossom into the next Googles and Facebooks of the future.

Indy is a great place to blossom a great income-producing portfolio, just surround yourself with the right people.  

There is finally institutional/commercial money being plunked into the area, with some tax-sponsored affordable housing developments having been built in the last decade, and several cool retail spots blossoming in the area (Tick Tock Lounge, Pogue's Run Grocery Store, etc.)
