There are multiple ways to deal with the problem, but the easiest on this kind of floor is to mop the floor in an oxalic acid solution (oxalic acid is the key ingredient in Bar Keepers Friend but you can buy 100% crystals of it online through Amazon).

The day I got the keys, I put on war paint and ran through the house yelling my battle cry and throwing bug bombs and boric acid throughout the place as if it was bug Fallujah and then got the heck outta there; the next day I pulled out all the carpets, linoleum, and threw out every piece of furniture and trash left in the house and also had a professional pest control guy come in.After that, it was a day of cleaning, a few days for new flooring, about a week to fix the two bathrooms, and another two days for paint, and voila!

I do have such water at my house in NJ but everywhere else that I have ever been the heat exchangers in tankless water heaters require acid flushing on an annual basis.

try some Muriatic acid ( wear goggles, rubber chemical gloves and a mask) you can find this at local hardware store or mason supply. this is used to clean brick. if you are inside, open windows and ventilate the room, this is some strong smelling stuff. just follow the directions on the container.
