What is interesting to me is all the owner/operators I know and/or know of that were founded in the 90's, have an almost allergic reaction to interest rate exposure.

Ignore the neighbor - she will up the torment to get a reaction from you and when you refuse to give one, she'll get bored and move on to another victim. 

The short notice and their reaction to your request for a second walkthrough are a bit concerning, as it could indicate they are trying to rush you into a deal.
