However I'm a friendly person by nature and have definitely found honey to work better than vinegar personally, while keeping very strict policies around the terms of the lease, rent collection, late fees, proper channels for maintenance requests etc.

As my mother was from Trinidad, West Indies and being raised in there, we tend to cook with curry (we curry everything LOL) and it does have a lingering smell (depending on the type of curry some are stronger than others) which can be offensive to others.When I cook curry nowadays, which is very rare to get rid if the lingering smell, the next day, I boil a small pot of water and vinegar which helps neutralize the odor.

Use white vinegar for cleaning porous surfaces such as woodwork, as it will kill down to the roots of some molds.

It doesn't smell and is only slightly visible now -- it's mostly the old stains I've previously had carpet cleaned coming back.I'm not able to replace the carpet now.I've tried vinegar with baking soda on it.

While it is still at the beginning, I can't help but think that by using some honey, instead of vinegar, with the long term tenant that was there, I will end up with two long term tenants and not many worries.
