I don't like liars; these people take the cake in that department and they take it to the next level. 

I truly understand that many treat appreciation as icing on the cake and looking at the data over 40 years in many of your cities, that is they way it should be treated.

Since everyone including your painter, plumber, roofer... has a camera in their phone and perhaps they get cranky with you... don't expect to simultaneously retain your cake and eat it.
