I only accept bids from my subs which include full turnkey work for their trade/portion to prevent just that, and prevent that I get a call that oops, the electrician forgot to include 50' of service wire, so I need to run to hd out of my own pocket, and then find a 49' piece rolled up on-site that he'll take with since it was too short anyway.

This is what they said. 1) HD pays their contractors (independent subs) at the very bottom of the pay range for whatever trade they do. 2) The subs make up for the low wages by gouging for extras.

Even with flips, it still take several months.Personally, unless you have a commission based job or do daytime trading, I don't see a reason to track your network every day.
