Started and am spending the time and treasure to do this for real.

Why didn't the guy just get someone to tear down the house and pay them off with the buried treasure?  

If you ask nicely most town/city treasurers will give you any delinquency info at their counter.  

The Sheriff told me I could have dumpsters brought to the curb and "stored" the tenants stuff in the dumpsters until the 24 hours (after set out) expired that the tenant had to move their treasures.
