It is there you can "rub elbows" with investors in your area who are actually "out in the field" doing real estate deals.

Hi Everyone,I just stumbled upon the world of real estate investing and this community earlier this week and have been really interested in this form of investing ever since.A little about me: I am a 28 year old software engineer from the Silicon Valley who has been working in the field for about 2.5 years.

I would love to talk to and meet like minded individuals and professionals in the real estate field!

I have a real estate license and a FL state roofing license, plus have plenty of contacts in property management and in different construction fields in South Florida - however, I am finding it difficult even with access to the MLS and using LoopNet to find any deals worth their salt from Monroe County up to Broward County.I'm lookin to buy and hold invest and prefer a tri or quad plex multi-family. 

I'm in a career field where I am likely to have multiple NCR assignments, and have many friends and colleagues there, so I should have some advantages finding quality tenants (possibly myself if I catch another assignment in the area).Budget: I'd prefer to keep it to a no down payment VA loan, which caps me around $680K, but I could put some additional down if i find a particularly good deal.Area: I'm targeting a SFM home  or townhouse in Arlington, Alexandria, or Falls Church (short commute to Pentagon and FT Belvoir), which I can rent easily to upper end military families or local professionals.

Matter of fact, I've lived in the neighborhood adjacent to NSU for the last 15 years and I am a huge fan of Spartan football.

I plan to have my own brokerage in 5 years(hopefully) and also a property management company with my fiancée who is working in the construction field.

I originally intended to be quite active during this process, since I would like to transition into this field full-term.

I am excited to hit the ground running and provide top-notch customer service in a field that I truly have a passion for.

For the past eight years I have rented it out as a fully furnished rental but unfortunately from a pricing perspective i have only had two tenants (both 4 years which is good with one regard) but I haven't drastically updated my prices over those 8 years either. here is a link to my current ad it has only been up for a couple days, if you have time let me know what you think and let me know if I am way out in left field.
