I figure doing both will give me options in 15 & 17 years when the kids head to college, depending on the state of the real estate market, stock market, interest rates. tax rates and a host of other considerations. 

I know SLRIA does a monthly lumcheon (3rd Friday of each month) and that @Jeff Rappaport hosts a couple events geared towards Bigger Pockets members. 

We meet this coming Thursday at the Emerald Coast Convention center at 7pm.I also just started hosting a monthly investor networking every last Tuesday of the month.

Also, I host a meetup group every friday.

BiggerPockets has zero involvement with any "summits" coming up, and no events that BiggerPockets is aware of are authorized to use the BiggerPockets brand as part of their marketing.Any events coming up should be considered as you would any other event hosted by other individuals or companies.

Locally in Dayton we host a monthly meetup for investors.

There is also some great investor meet-ups in the area, some hosted by BP members and some on MeetUp.
