I am a firm believer in only using my time to perform tasks that are the highest and best use of my time.Trying to pinch pennies and do things you are not an expert in loses dollars.It is two fold.

The company they colluded with to make a mortgage for and manage the property has also folded up shop and apparently left town. 

'Consider also that the average homeowner equity has increased almost 4x fold over the past 23 years (even more than equities!) 

If the work was done by a DIY home owner, the likelihood of mistakes is ten fold. 

The crate folds up in the closest when not in use.

But it was her idea, she's begging, and finally I fold, mainly because I don't want the hassle of trying to actually kick them out.I will give them credit: my housekeeper said they left the house immaculate.  

The reason I was thinking this is two fold.

So I guess my question could be two fold, what else should I/could I have done there?

In the Midwest, Missouri specifically land has appreciated 10 fold over the past couple years.

They could take their clothes there and get them Washed, Dried and Folded.
