Portland and the Old Orchard Beach area has a high tourism rate, so have you considered short term rentals based on demand?

-Housing appears to be relatively affordable considering tourism is a big economic driver there.

Very close and drivable to The Smokies and lots of great tourism 

I went to IREC in Vietnam in September, I was the only banker there, lots or realtors from around the world.

I work in Western NC which contain a portion of the Smokies, the Blue Ridge Parkway, is a huge tourism market, and is very STR friendly.  

I know it is heavily reliant on tourism and bikers/hikers.

Too many entrenched interests in major cities to count; tourism and hotel lobby will run any competitor out of town.

Hello everyone, My name is Dave, a 35 year-old from LA/OC area but I’ve based in Vietnam for the last 4 years teaching English here.

There is a huge number of condo projects under construction and planned and, in my opinion, the growth in tourism will not be enough to absorb the rental offer (which renders the rental numbers I mentioned above even more unrealistic and overinflated.

Looks like La Quinta voted to abolish STR's outside of Tourism areas by 2024.
