We use it for our tenants to remind them about changing the filters, or checking the smoke alarm battery etc.With the outside services, you can also track who reads the emails.

The inspection failed for missing smoke detectors [the tenant took it down when it started beeping] no fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detectors missing batteries.

We always check smoke alarm batteries and filters, and one of our longer-term tenants now actually leaves post-it notes around the place saying, loose closet door, or wobbly fan, and we fix anything minor that we can take care of while there.

A way to keep an eye on the property is to perform routine maintenance like changing the filter in the furnace (which a tenant will almost never do on their own) and changing the batteries in the smoke detector.

That in and of itself isn't a problem but it is battery powered and therein lies the rub.I would check and see what the battery percentage is when it goes offline.
