You will find some incredbily helpful people there and informative speakers.

Be careful at RE Investing Club Los Ansgeles - this club is known for bringing in the gurus to pitch fest. newbies are often inspired by the speaker and spend there hard earned money on programs, bootcamps and the like.Education building here on BP is imperative.As to the good clubs, Investclub for Women as mentioned above, FIBI in Manhattan Beach run by Matt Ownes, Investor's Workshops run by Shwan Watkins (which is in OC) are the very best in my opinion.

the easy part is paying 8k to a "guru" and sitting thru a motivational speaker talking RE talk while mingling with the herd and feeling excited about what they're telling you you can do.

Apparently they are working on a way to attend dinner meetings without the dinner for $10 but sit in a different area.Check the calendars of these organizations and you can see who the event speakers are and if it is worth the investment.

What I've found so far is that there's not a lot of good (read: thorough) study material on note investing and much of what I do find looks, to me, like the speaker or book writer or poster is leaving out key pieces of information either intentionally or unintentionally.
