May as well buy bitcoin at $60k and sell it at $30k...

If your going to be passive, you may as well get a loan and start building equity so that in 20 years it's paid off and now your 250K has grown to over 1 million plus.  

So start thinking and writing and come up with an investment road map towards a well defined goal (and share it with your girlfriend -- may as well see if you two are on the same page now).
