Outside of that I would recommend connecting with and building deep and strong relationships/friendships with successful investors who share your passion for real estate. 

I am looking to start a friendship with anyone who lives in FL, and who would be interested in showing a newbie the ropes.

What's sad is that because they were my friends I would have settled for losing the commission to save the friendship, but they automatically assumed I would ask them to pay the whole fee.

I live in Farmington, NM (top north west corner of the state) and I am looking forward to creating lasting friendships and partnerships from BP.  

I'd like to acquire two units within the next ten years as another form of consistent long term wealth building and hopefully build a list of lifetime friendships along the way via BiggerPockets.......Derek

Im just here to learn as much as i can and make friendships.

I have always met other investors (like-minded individuals) who I have developed long term friendships with and have done deals with them.  

I would not build a home across the country from where you live unless you have someone that you completely trust and even then that could strain your friendship if things don't go well.

I listed an agent I met in an airport and with whom I struck up a friendship as my sponsor and the reason I chose KW!

A lot of friend ships have been ruined by not communicating clearly and not putting things in writing.Good luck!
