I started writing and then I deleted my post because I felt like it could be taken offensively.

They reverted the change and deleted my forum thread about it.... then rolled it back out again anyway.

Some of the items in your list (such as net passive loss allowance, steppped up basis upon inhertiance, and section 1031 exchanges) have been in the federal tax code so long that any attempt to delete them may face fierce opposition. 

She's likely more stable than a 24-year-old single mother or two short-order cooks rooming together or that guy that just moved to the area for a new job...Never mind, I just read your other post, please delete this post.
