The Canadian Edition of Quickbooks really only differed from its U.S.A. cousin by having an awkward implementation of GST/HST (our VAT) and GIFI.  

We diversify, but because we are active investors, limit our diversification to assets we believe we have a competitive advantage and are able to obtain our targeted “premium” return.  

I also agree that everyone needs to know how to manage risk, but you can't manage risk on your first deal if you only have cheerleaders and no impartial third party.I edited it as it posted too quick.

Also, from what I read in Bloomberg, midterm rentals near major hospitals can sometime command a decent premium.. especially if they include some nice furnishings.Little Tweaks Count: Even minor upgrades, like new door locks or a fresh coat of paint, can help you justify a stronger rent.Driving for Dollars & Networking..

These areas might have higher property prices, but they can offer premium rental rates and higher occupancy.
