While I do maintain a relatively modest percentage of my assets in money market instruments, corporate debt funds, and high dividend stocks, I remain most comfortable with the investments I specialize in and know best.  

This year’s most popular areas are known for being fast-growing cities with plenty of new development, with healthy job growth in Florida and Texas in particular.

I am a buy and hold investor.

And, know this: what you don't know will hurt you. 

From my understanding, I need a Proof of Funds in order to get under contract. 

I think asset prices will continue to grow, areas where millennials can buy affordable real estate will be where I'm setting my sights on.  

Get the house hack under contract and closed first. 

I want to know more about the area and build a team that can help me purchase and manage properties.   

In Houston, you can either invest locally or explore strong Texas markets like San Antonio (affordable duplexes, strong job market), DFW suburbs (duplex-friendly zoning, growing economy), or Houston suburbs (Spring, Cypress, The Woodlands for good schools and tenant demand).

And, just maybe you’ve purchased at a point where Detroit has hit its low, bottomed out, and is set to reverse trend and grow.
