With the low cost and simplicity of easily portable wireless alarm systems now I would just let the tenant get their own if they want one.

If you only pay $300 for a wireless camera system at Sam's then you are getting what you paid for.I use higher end Digital Watchdog cameras and software and I love this system.

Do you use manual meters or wireless ones that report numbers remotely?

In this case, you have to have a wireless way to monitor the systems output.
