No offense, but that's a ridiculous question, for many reasons:-  Are you talking about the first step in getting into the business or the first step in physically renovating a house or something else?

I agree with the thinking that people should work towards investing in a home, but I think that your rhetoric here is off base and quite honestly extremely offensive to those of us that work hard at what we do.

And as @Justin Kovach mentioned the code is pretty much the same because they all follow the same IRC ( just a slight correction in Justins comment - if you are remodeling a residential house you are following the IRC not the IBC, and its the Uniform Construction Code of the State that adopts the different codes not the IBC, hope you don't take offense to corrections Justin ) He is right that they are pretty much the same, NJ has its own version with some changes, but the railing code is the same as PA.

No offense, but I think the knee-jerk reaction to go to a different market is horrible advise.
