If you have appliances that you were going to swap out anyway, it might be worth a shot before replacing them.  

I also swapped out new locks and new doorbells.

I deal with the facility managers whom order the service, not sure if their insurance requires it or not, I will ask, otherwise Its good practice, occasional breaker swaps are recommended etc. 

Now, they have a slightly different program, where an A/C tech measures the performance of the existing A/C before the swap, and the performance of the new A/C after the swap. 

I'd be glad to swap stories, though!

Many people sure thought that they were well diversified when their money managers put them into funds that included Credit-Default Swaps, Bear Stearns, and Lehman Brothers.

If you own the property, and have your mailing address / drivers license etc swapped to that other address for the duration; then it is cause for concern in my opinion. 

Swapping units that contain refrigerant gas is best left to the pros, in part due to the equipment necessary to capture the gas, as well as compliance with regulations.

Start rubbing elbows before and after the auction begins and swap business cards with as many folks as possible.
