I want to take Brandons advice and use that funnel mentality to be consistent...and successful.

The question is: Should I focus more on school (both mentally and financially) and hope to gain an internship down the road or should I "bite the apple" and hope for the best while attending to both RE and my degree?

I could make the argument that if your new to the business, and think you've done all you can and "there are just no deals out there", and your coming on to a website looking for the magic formula that will replace hard work and make you rich quick, then you may not have the never say die mentality that it may take to really do well, and may do better working for someone.      

I currently own a business that I'm parting ways with my partner and that company just mentally exhausted me.

In my studies I've learned that these large corporations create dozens upon hundreds of subsidiary companies to bid in a sort of umbrella fashion, doing so by flooding the auction site with bids to ensure success, and in turn bidding down the percentage rate (it doesn't matter that they are getting .25% return, because they bought 800 at a time type mentality).   

Also after having had to do a short sale on her house and since she has been on a fixed disability income she has a support/careful mentality towards me "doing real estate" but not willing or able to contribute financially

This is the power that every person can harness by standing on their story versus subcomming to a defeatist mentality.

Knowing the "small town" mentality in the city, I do wonder if the builders strategy is going to completely flop.

The thought of getting paid for your efforts is job mentality thinking and not success mentality.
