EddieBy law the bank is prohibited from dealing with you directly, it is interpreted as attempting to collect during the bankruptcy so any attempts to sell anything must be done through the trustee but it is done often.When the foreclosure is just days away the bank can postpone it but in my experiences the bank can be trusted to pretty much not stick to anything they say, but it doesn't hurt to try.

For example all IndyMac foreclosures were suspended when it went into FDIC conservatorship a few years ago.Sometimes the investor/bank has a buyer in the wings and is negotiating with them (I've seen this accelerate the date rather than postpone it)That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

NC has a similar law entitled Home Foreclosure Rescue Scams and the wording here (in NC) in the Foreclosure rescue transaction is the buyer "... make representations that the transfer of the residential property will enable the transferor to prevent, postpone, or reverse the effect of foreclosure and to remain in the residence..."
