When in probate all the debts are paid from the assets (if any) of the estate so in the case of unsecured debt it's in their best interest to to ahead and settle for a lower amount so they at least get something out of the estate rather than get nothing at all (as was the case of my late father) because the debts outweighed the assets of the estate.

While there are negatives to pets in rentals I have always thought the Positives Outweighed them.

Your best bet is to team with both a CPA and a Lawyer to discuss both aspects of this process, as the tax benefits may not outweigh the asset protection benefits depending on your risk aversion and finances.

I personally think the pros for a fund outweigh the pros for property specific.  

Meaning - all software has to be used, but you need to make sure that the time saved far outweighs managing the system.Most new systems continue to move for less and less manual updating.  

Slab has always cause me trouble when I do it myself, but when I have my contractor do it, I leave it up to them...I don't think there's a solid answer because of the trim/custom sizes/other issues you may face for each door.Personally, as long as my budget allows, the time savings of my contractor (and the overall "fresh" look) outweigh the cost of a pre-hung..and I'm usually only replacing 3-6 doors.Now, if you're replacing 15+ doors...lol.

The exceptions that make it possible under plan assets and plan fiduciaries increase the amount of documentation that is required, that sometimes the cost of following these exceptions and exemptions outweighs the return of investment.

That sealed the deal on doing custom reporting because I couldn't find any rent/utilities management software.I only had two landlords to report to, so the benefit of quick data entry outweighed the clunky reportingExcel is not "turnkey" If you want to use it, then expect to do some problem solving

So I think with the little bit of extra risk this brings, that the benefits outweigh that risk.
