@Tim G. 's point, it must be supportable by an efficient end user process that repeatable, scalable and sustainable.  If you don't have your process clearly defined, the data quality will suffer. If the data quality is compromised than the integration merely risks compounding misinformation.  In a perfect world, the system solution should enhance the already solid support model and eventually turn data into information.
