Hello Biggerpockets members,My name is Shahaf and I'm a software Engineer from Israel, it's my first post here.I'm studying the power of passive income and real estate investing(rental properties) for a while now,I'm really interested to start investing in the U.S but not sure how it's going to be managed,I mean I can fly like a couple of times a year, but is it really possible to do that remotely?

Unless this is a high end rental, I'm not sure $1000 would fly even with a receipt. 

Should i go fly down to the area and see the house first?

You supplied internet , you can fly coach or first class .  

Not sure where in California you're located but I'm having people over my place Oct 25, and flying my contractor down to do a Q&A.

I just feel like, say if I were dishonest and was trying to sell a property with some big flaws, I’d try to fly it under the “sorry tenants can’t be bothered, drive by’s only” excuse and hope for the best.

Great planes I bought mine new in 04  that was cool going to Duluth transition training and walking into the hanger seeing that brand new bird :)I have about 1000 hours in it.. not as much as I like.. and right now I am battling my medical.. so been grounded for while.Anyway safe flying.. and I really really enjoy working in Charleston SC  great people great place.. !!!!

We have started threatening to send to collections during occupancy if unpaid by X date and have had success in receiving the payment.I don't think an increase as you suggest would fly. 

The reason I am asking about Indiana is that I am flying there soon for a business trip.

One of my tenants tried to use the "you have my security deposit, that's my rent this month" argument, and it didn't fly at all.
