After several months of battling with various ideas, we think we've settled on Orlando, FL due to the fact that there is no state income tax (especially important for someone overseas), Disney is close, it's mid-way between our families, and the weather makes it destination-friendly year round.

In addition to the local market appeal of Manhattan being a major employment center, a destination frequented by tourists, and severely space-constrained, international investors (the Chinese in particular) like to hold NYC real estate as a place to park their money.

I have been eyeing land in Washington county NC and Hyde county NC for big game (500-600 lb. bear) as a hunting destination... just so many opportunities in a lifetime to pursue;) Ohio had a windfall several years back with the fracking revolution.

Where IBM, Dell and HP (Compaq) once dominated, we now have Apple, Google and Amazon in the mobile space.One thing worth noting is these high profile companies are all choosing warmer destinations to expand.

So it depends on a lot of factors.Location, views, sleeping qty/ arrangements, amenities etc I would recommend a house in a non HOA neighborhood.A vacation destination would be my choice over a house on 4th st.

Gave a guy down th road with a truck $10 to move 1 squatter to his destination and I moved the other squatter, in my truck, to his destination. 

Just to tag some keywords, I would be interested in properties in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Jacksonville, Tampa, Daytona Beach, vacation rentals and Str in Panama City Beach, 30A, Destin, Atlanta, OTP, I've even found a property I'm interested in in Valdosta Georgia.

The property I was analyzing was near a popular beach destination down the NJ shore and I think the comps were not accurate because of that. 

Volvo just announced a billion dollar plant and Me recedes just announced a 500 million dollar investment.. 14 new hotels under construction with the major cruise ship industry building a embarkation facility which is huge..
