One observation is that I would get a longer term. 6 months sounds like a long time, but with the craziness of refinancing and the amount of time it can take, I would make sure to at least get 9 months.

Finally - Also, be sure to set up some Keyword Alerts for some of the topics you are knowledgeable about, or other topics that interest you (like commercial, Washington, broker, etc ) so you'll be informed that those words were mentioned in the forums and then you can jump into those conversations to observe or ask or answer questions.

The problem is that so far all I've been is an observer from a distance.

You are going to be extremely busy navigating your students, your fellow teachers and admin, meetings upon meetings, requirements you still may need for certification even after getting out of college, your observations towards tenure, and the parents of your students that first year.

I don't have a huge nest egg, but am realistic and expect that it will take a while before I can fully support myself with this new business venture.Also, if anyone in the jax area would be willing to let me shadow them or let me observe a rehab process in action or simply mentor/advise me, I would be more than happy to repay the services somehow.
