P/C Insurance agent here...If you're going to file a claim, you'd do so through your legal council.  

I might look into owning one such unit myself....but I do realize why neighbors and city councils are hesitant for zoning consistency reasons.

If you are putting in 75% of the down payment, managing, doing the work, and eventually want to own it, you may try just for a loan....you didn't mention and actual numbers (only %) so it is hard to say but if you are looking to friends and family maybe they would agree to a loan in second position and maybe a little higher than market interest.In addition you can do all the things you ask about above in a partnership...specific timeline, Equity %, defined buy-out, etc  --  I would for sure seek legal council Bernie

The city council is also going to vote this evening on allowing for a 5 year contract for Superfly Productions to take over Overland Golf Course for 5 weeks (think Coachella Music Festival).  

Unless you have your stuff really dialed in; separate bank accounts, meetings, minutes, by-laws, resolutions for everything you do and you end up in court, it will be very easy for opposing council to pierce the corporate veil and hold you liable.

I ask because I am in multiple discussions with people I have meet through BP, network, and other areas and at the end of the day I require legal council to represent me.For the purpose of anyone else in the future who might come across this through google, could you also state why you recommend this person/firm? 

Attend the local city council meetings.  

Last night I attended Riverside City Council and our Economic Development team was asking for approval of two affordable housing projects because the developer was asking for a reduction in land cost and the first-time assistance program of $50,000 which the council approved.

Find one or two neighborhoods you like, and stick to purchasing in those areas. 2017 has seen an uptick in the number of shootings in Wilmington, City Council and the WPD have plans to fight these...we will see how well they can execute.
