Personally, we spent about a year and a half listening to podcasts, reading a bunch of REI books, and talking to experienced investors before we felt the time is right.

These forums will be a good resource too, but nothing beats shaking someones hand, looking them in the eye and listening to what they have to say.Best of luck!

@Bruce Woodruff you must have mis understood my tone then because I was listening to all advice , you said my framing material calculation was wrong and I explained how I came up with those numbers, how do you come up with the correct framing material cost?

Hi,Listening to some of the podcasts and reading the blog, I keep feeling this inner red flag that keeps popping up in me.  

who knows. that's why i keep telling this guy to find someone who knows what they're doing vs listening to guys like you and i arguing online.

I am currently getting things lined up to purchase the Real Estate Salesperson License course for Illinois, am reading books on sales, listening to podcasts, putting together a business plan, looking up Investor Meetup groups, researching brokerages, and just about to finish the Bigger Pockets book on "How to Invest in Real Estate. 

Yes, there are good returns for STR in orlando, but you'll need to listen to those on-the-ground and active in Orlando.
