Risk = reward, so you can't have immense returns without immense risk. 

Not great as in lower income, higher crime, and from what I can tell driving through, mostly African American neighborhood.

Hi @Jedrick Theron, Unfortunately there is a lot that is not relevant for South Africa but there is a ton of principles and brilliant ideas to learn from, adapt for South African opportunities and execute.

Many of these may have small foundation issues and may even need to have all of the plaster pulled from the home, but the payoff on a short-term hold strategy can be immense.

The fact here is that you have an increasing number of REI that think that STRs (whether through Airbnb or otherwise) are just another facet of their industry, when in reality the hospitality industry is immensely complex on its own.

Using the president example, you would have also seen a jump in African-American investors over the past 8 years in REI.
