Calling all female real estate investors. Are there any?

This headline was meant to call attention.  Of course there are some female real estate investors on BP, but, based on my experience, not many.

In over 14 years of investing across multiple states 99.9% of the investors I've met have been men. In fact, I have met less than 5 single women real estate investors (I mean single women as in not married to a man who is an investor).

Why not?

Is it because most real estate professionals are men?

Is it because there are few have female real estate investor role models?

I don't know, but I think it's a problem and worth discussing because it means that few women are not gaining the experience in growing wealth through real estate investing.

If you are a single women or started investing as a single women please post your experiences investing in real estate here, particularly your successes.  Please be specific.
