Don't confront tenants.

I contacted the tenant, assuming that like most people, she just didn't want to deal with the confrontation.

I find that smaller companies (I prefer single owner) tend to be much less confrontational and are hungry for my business.Hope this helps.

When I received the aforementioned harassing call it went right into a separate subsection of the guys notice to quit.Based on previous threads, there are more than a few who are scared to death of their tenants and won't even acknowledge they are the landlord when confronted- they claim to be the property manager.

I'm going to be even less confrontational than these other guys.I would say "lets switch to a month to month lease".

Don't look at it as a confrontation, we are not here to pigeon hole you into a contract so that you're stuck with us and you are limited with options. 

Seems like he was having some remorse and when confronted with a viable solution came up with an excuse.
